Dear parents and students,
Year 12
It has been an amazing experience teaching such bright and enthusiastic students this year. I thank you for learning physics with me and thank you for taking my advice on attending classes close to the exam repeat-learning the same content. It is also good to see more students learning off the App 🙂
I am here right through to the exam, feel free to ask as many questions as you like.
I would like to do at least 1 individual class with each student sitting for the exam. Please book your spot on the 11th or 12th of November (other days might work too). Last year, students found this extremely beneficial.
Some students have requested a face to face class. Therefore, I will do one with these students, on Saturday, 9th of November. If you would like to attend, please reply back by Thursday 7th November.
Year 10 and 11 Students
Welcome to all new students 🙂 We will begin a new batch of headstart classes towards the end of November. There are a few expectations when attending classes:
1) Please keep everything else aside and focus during class.
2) Participate and answer questions during class
3) Do 5 x Checkpoints questions after each class.
Next year I want to work more closely with parents and ensure that point 3 is strictly adhered to.
If you are going into Year 12, we also have an App with quizzes, progress tracking, and mini video lessons. Please speak to me if you are interested in getting the App.
Learn Physics – changing lives
By learning at Learn Physics you are doing a lot more than improving your grades and having fun with this subject. A large part of the income of this business goes towards improving lives.
Last year our big project involved installing permanent water filtering tanks that would provide clean drinking water to about 150 families.
Over the next 3 years, the goal is to restore sight to 500 blind people through a top Australian charity, the Fred Hollows Foundation (we are at about 130/500 now).
As we have 23 students sitting the exam this year, we will contribute towards curing 4 blind people per student (in addition to normal monthly donations).
Please note that the above contributions are solely thanks to students and parents of Learn Physics, and separate to my personal charitable efforts. I thank you once again, from the bottom of my heart for enabling this.
Good luck with exams, go Ace them, you are more powerful than you know!
Kind regards,
Dhananjana (Dan) Weeraratne
